Why pursuing your dreams is essential

We all have objectives and goals, some of which are enormous and others which are as simple as increasing our grades.

Pursuing your aspirations, in my opinion, is essential to being pleased with your life. Consider this: what level of regret would you feel if you knew deep down in your heart that you should have pursued your aspirations but didn’t?

Today’s topic is the importance of chasing your aspirations, and I’ll give you three reasons why you should do so.

Alright, enough marketing, let’s take a look at three reasons why you need to pursue your dreams:

#3 You’ll avoid utter regret

Let’s face it, we only realize our mistakes when it’s too late.

You don’t want to be sitting at a job one day, knowing full well that it’s not what you should be doing with your life. I know a lot of folks who dread going to work every day and working to make someone else’s dreams come true.

Guys and gals, this is why it’s critical to know deep down in your heart what you want to accomplish with your life, and you MUST ensure that you’re not pushed into it… This leads me to my second point…

#2 To avoid being forced into a job you don’t love

If you want to become the best at what you do, you have to truly love what you do and express pure passion for what you do.

So many of my peers are being driven into jobs they despise because “that’s what their parents would’ve wanted, right?”

The point I want to make is that NO ONE ELSE BUT YOU should be deciding your life path. You avoid being pressured into doing something you’ll despise for the rest of your life if you pursue YOUR ambitions and what YOU WANT in life. I don’t know about you, but I get irritated when people say things like “But you’re not cut out for that” or “I think you’d make a great accountant…”

Always value other people’s opinions, especially those of your closest friends and family, and never let their beliefs about what is good for you affect your path in a negative way that will cause you to live in regret for the rest of your life.

#1 You only live ONCE

When you think about it, it’s terrifying: In 2019, the world’s average life expectancy was 72 years, according to the United Nations.

This may appear to be a significant amount of time, but in reality, it passes in a blink!

Let’s face it, whether we like it or not, our time on this enormous ball in the center of space is short. You don’t want to be laying on your death bed once a day, gasping for oxygen, knowing that you could’ve done more to make your life worthwhile. You don’t want to wake up and say to yourself, “I should’ve taken that opportunity.”

This would be my greatest nightmare if it happened to me. That is why I live by the idea of “Do it regardless of what others say,” and I encourage each of you to do the same. Don’t second-guess yourself; instead, pay attention to what your heart and intuition are telling you and go for it!

Final Thoughts

Although it may appear ironic at first, dreams are made to come true, and that is an opinion I strongly hold.

No matter what anyone says you, your aspirations and goals are never too big, too ambitious, or too enthusiastic.

Allowing other people’s thoughts and beliefs to crush your dreams of attaining greatness and being the finest version of yourself is never a good choice.

Finally, never let anything stand in the way of achieving your goals; follow them and do everything it takes to make them a reality.
